Provincetown, Brewster, Wellfleet and Eastham faced the worst outages Wednesday evening, while shelters filled with displaced residents.

National parks from as far away as Delaware and Maine are helping the Cape Cod National Seashore with storm damage assessment.

As of early morning on Tuesday, Feb. 24, 156,000 Eversource customers were reported without power on the Cape. The company reported that 80% of the Cape's three largest towns – Barnstable, Falmouth and Yarmouth – have no power, while 99-100% of Provincetown, Truro, Wellfleet, Eastham, Orleans and Brewster have no power.

The MSPCA-Angell has opened its Cape Cod adoption center to temporarily house residential pets whose homes do not have electricity following the major blizzard.
