Cold Weather Science! ❄️ Our middle schoolers braved the extreme cold (for just a few minutes) to explore some amazing science phenomena outside! Mrs. Wooldrik threw hot water into the air and watched it instantly freeze, a process known as flash freezing! Why it happens: ❄️ Flash Freezing: When hot water is thrown into freezing air, it breaks into tiny droplets that cool and freeze almost instantly, caused by extreme vaporization and nucleation in extremely cold air.
